Best Short Haircut. Truly. I'm not a simple gal when it comes to knowing how I want my hair cut, only how I don't want it. Rachel at Kropps and Bobber seems to know, though. Hallelujah, sister. She listened to my nonsense, deciphered what I hoped to go for, and did it. Boom.

I had the ONLY supreme deep tissue massage from Jean, that can change your outlook if not your life.. The facials are as good as the massage, I prefer Olga and Joni can color hair like no other. The manicures outlast any other I've ever had, the work is meticulous and they use amazing organic products to die for!!
They are affordable, accommodating, professional, clean and I recommend them to all who ask.

I went to Rachel to color my brunette hair which had become rather blah and I was finally ready to do something about it. I knew Rachel from when she was at Oscar Blandi and was confident she'd do a good job on my hair, but WOW, I am soooo impressed!
I had highlights put on the top and semi-permanent to cover all that grey I'm starting to get (eek!). I'm a very au natural kind of person, so I didn't want anything that was going to make me look vampy or would be obvious, and I was really afraid of getting scary roots if I waited a little too long to get it dyed again. Rachel is a color genius because my hair looks as healthy as it did when I was in high school - it is shiny, the color is rich and the copper-ish highlights subtly catch the eye but don't look like a different color.
I have only good things to say about Rachel and think that if you are looking for a highly professional hairdresser she's your go-to.

I've gotten so many compliments on the haircut I got last week from Lauren that I went back today to get the highlights she suggested. The weather has been so nice recently, I decided that I just couldn't wait to get that sun-kissed look naturally. I should tell you, that I haven't dyed my hair in years because of a few mishaps. But Lauren steered me in the right direction with my cut, so I trusted her with the color. She did an AMAZING job (again)! She added an extra glow to my hair, but not in a "oh, you just got highlights" sort of way. It is more of a subtle "something's different, but I can't quite put my finger on it" sort of way; which was EXACTLY what I wanted! Do yourself a favor: CALL KROPPS AND BOBBERS AND ASK FOR LAUREN! She'll add a little bit of sunshine to your winter!

Wesley cut my hair - he was definitely the best stylist I've encountered since moving to NY. I have punky hair and most stylists either try to give me that mullet that's going around or give me their awkward version of what they think is rocker hair. He's friendly and does a really great job. He offered me something to drink, he looked at the pictures I brought in and was really great at making me look exactly how I wanted.

A great experience. This salon on the trendy Loisada (LES) does great hair. I came in with a butchered haircut from a trendy salon in Williamsburg and came out of K & B with a polished/fixed looked ~> a super cool style. I normally don't like to spend alot of $$ on a hair-cut but this was well worth it. My stylist was patient and sat with me discussing style possibilities for a good 15min before he even touched my hair which I loved . . offered me a drink and then went on to do exactly what i had asked for. All I can say is mad props to Kropps & Bobbers - I will definitely go there again.

I tried Kropps and Bobbers on a friend's recommendation. I got a drastic cut and was a bit nervous, but I couldn't be happier with my new haircut. I highly recommend Wesley. He has a great demeanor and was in no rush to get through my cut - he took his time, did a great job, and made it an overall stress-free experience. He showed me how to style my new do with gel, but was in no way trying to push products on me...always appreciated.

Joni gave me the best haircut I've ever had. She just knew what my hair would do and not do and what would look good with my face. Simply amazing. Olga gave me a fabulous facial and the best lip wax ever. She takes her time and does a really thorough job. My skin has never felt better. Bisa does a really great job on nails. I absolutely loved this salon!!

I met Wesley at Kropps and Bobbers.  On a fluke.  The lovely folks at x could not accomodate a pre-wedding updo, and it was going to be hurricane weather that night, and I didn't want to bother with it myself.  I remembered this funky looking shop when I had gone to Eat-Pisode before and decided to give them a call.  They could take me at the time I wanted, the price was right, and it was only an updo, right?
A girl came up to my boyfriend at the wedding and said, "Is that your girlfriend?"  "Yes..."  "Well, we've all decided - she is by far the best dressed and most put-together girl here."
It was that good an updo.  Wesley, Wesley, Wesley.  You asked what I wanted, I told you, and you executed in primo "As you wish" fashion.  I looked and felt amazing.
Everyone in the shop was chatty and delightful - I'd go back for the company. If anyone asks me who I will go to for my hair design/styling needs.... Wesley, I will never doubt again.

Joni is, in a word, amazing. She's been doing my extensions for the past two years and my hair is healthy, healthy, healthy. And beautiful! She's smart, personable and really cares about her clients. The atmosphere at Kropps is really relaxing and everyone is happy and chatty. Oh, and the manicures and pedicures are top notch. Better than any I have ever gotten at any ridiculously expensive salon or spa.

To say that I like my hair, would be an understatement.  I love my hair! And I have Wesley to thank for that.  So Wesley...thank you.
I started going to Kropps & Bobbers 2 years ago, maybe 3.  That is when I first met Wesley.  My hair was a challenge at first, but he was patient and with time we got my hair to where it is now.  It's easy and gorgeous all down to him.
The atmosphere of the salon is casual & laid back, fun & warm.  No place else would I rather go.  And no one else would I trust with my hair.

Joni has been cutting my hair for a few years now and I would not let anyone else ever cut my hair.  She always gives me a great look.  I never have a clue what I want to do with my hair and so I tell her to do whatever she wants.  I am always thrilled with the results.  I recently had a facial by Olga and she was fabulous also.  They have a great team at this salon.  Highly recommend it.

I've been going to Joni for haircuts and highlights for about 10 years, here and in the prior location.  Service is great, she always does what you ask and the prices are reasonable, and everyone who works there is nice.

I had my dreads maintained/cleaned up here by Joni.  She's awesome, very sweet, helpful, and did a great job.  The staff is very polite and I was very happy with their service and their prices.

I discovered Kropps and Bobbers' greatest asset...Bisa! She is an amazing nail technician and also does fabulous waxing. She is super friendly and makes me feel very comfortable.

I got me a chin-length bobber. My hair was long, fine, layered and wavy. I was instantly at ease. Lauren's consultation was unrushed and she gave me the best haircut I've had in ages. It's easy to style and super versatile. She took her time and explained her choices, asking questions along the way. Lauren's got top-notch cutting and styling skills without the attitude. She's was abroad recently and just started at this salon, so get her while the going's good. I imagine she'll be pretty busy within a few months.

If you are Asian with A LOT of hair, ASK FOR Wesley. My hair is long, thick, and not completely stick straight; and guess what? Every stylist (from Bumble and Bumble, Devachon, to $7 Chinatown salons) has tried to razor cutting my hair in the hopes of thinning out my crazy, fertile hair. But Wes taught me that this technique has the opposite effect on my hair because it creates frizzy (not blunt) edges that make my hair look damaged with dry ends and tons of fly ways! He used some other scissors and cut my hair differently, and I don't even have to spend hours in the morning blowing it out

Wesley has been doing my hair for 3 years and it has never looked better. Not only is he an amazing artist with hair, but he is incredibly knowledgeable about the chemicals and products that he works with. Twice a year he does the Japanese straightening process on my hair and I would not trust anyone else to do it. My hair looks amazing and is healthier than ever too!

The staff have excellent skills and truly listen to and hone in on the needs and wants of their clients. They all seem to be truly blessed with the ability to interpret their clients demands... true artists in their work.
On a practical note the salon is located close to the FDR driveway right off Houston so it is super easy to locate. For those of us who drive, there is a convenient parking lot across the street.
Overall the staff of Kropps and Bobbers provide excellent service and pricing I would recommend K&B for one and all.

I've been a loyal Kropps client since back in the Jones St days and Joni (the owner) works miracles. She's taken me from long, copper red and curly to super short and shiny black and everything in between. She really excels at color and, while her styling always makes me feel like a queen, somehow she cuts my hair so that I can easily style it myself. I also go to K&B for my facials, mani/pedi and waxing because Visa and Olga are so precise and gifted. Love the products, love the ambiance, love the events.

Run dont walk to get your nails done. If you are located in the east village and are in need of that perfect pampering please go to kropps&Bobbers and get it from Visa. She will make you feel like you have experienced a superb spa day. I guarantee it. She has been my manicurist/pedicurist for over 5 years and comes from the acclaimed Pritts nails and then before Rescue Beauty Lounge. I been having manicures, pedicures and wax performed by Visa for almost 3 years ( I followed her every place she have worked) and I will not change her for nothing in the whole world. She is just amazing doing her job and have a great personality. I will recommend her to everyone who wants to have the best manicure, pedicure or/and wax experience.

With any move to a new city, one of the hardest things to find is a quality place to get your hair cut. I've been here just over a year and must say that Kropps and Bobbers is the place for me.
It's got a mellow vibe and is comfortable. It's a pro set-up, and the stylists know their craft. They get to know their clients and their preferences and, when you get right down to it, make them look good. I go to Mark, and he's wonderful.
I like keeping my straight hair short, and when I last went for a cut Mark gave me a flexible style I could play with depending on my mood. Anyway, long story short while I'm out and about running errands, not one but two complete strangers compliment my cut.
Who doesn't love that?

The salon has a great vibe. The people are really friendly and not at all pretentious, as some Manhattan stylists can be. The set up of the place is comfy in a minimalistic, Zen, sort of way. Not a lot of flash - just great hair.

As you can probably determine from the name this place is sort of kitschy. But hey, I like kitsch, so that helps make this hair stylists joint more palatable. Hair stylists. I miss the innocent days of my youth when I went to just a barber or to get my hair cut, but its all about style these days, and this place is fully up to date with all the hipster mores
